Arorangi

Kikau Hut Restaurant (closed Sunday), next to the Oasis Village Motel, serves a variety of New Zealand-style dishes. The octagonal dining room is almost swallowed in tropical vegetation.

Alberto's Restaurant (closed Sunday), near the Sunset Resort, offers steaks or pastas.

The much-advertised Spaghetti House (daily from 1800), at the entrance to the Edgewater Resort, offers pizzas, pastas, and meats. It's owned by the Edgewater Resort, thus has a "captive" clientele.

Seafood, steaks, and chicken are available nightly at the Tumunu Tropical Garden Bar and Restaurant, also near the Edgewater. This spacious bar opened in 1979 and the bartender, Eric, offers sightseers a popular guided tour of his picturesque establishment for a tip.

In Arorangi Flamboyant Place Takeaway (open daily), opposite Dive Rarotonga, serves inexpensive meals. Try the locally-made meat pies.

In Arorangi, the Lime Café (closed Tuesday), next to Island Car and Bike Hire, a bit north of the Are Renga Motel, serves pizza, quiche, and melts for lunch. For dinner there's pizza, plus chicken and seafood.
